Today I bought Christmas gifts for my students for next year and I saved 75%!! Yay! I love when I get a good deal.  Now keep in mind that I teach first grade and it doesn't require a whole lot for them to get excited so here is what I got them. (The picture only shows one package of each item but I got enough for 23 kids)
The assortment includes stickers, pencils, disc shooters, a gift bag, stencils, and stamps. I paid a grand total of $12.18.  That comes out to roughly .53 a child.  Yippee!! I'll probably toss some candies and or cookies in the bags and I'll be set to go for a really cheap but pretty awesome gift for each one of my kiddos!  Check out those clearance bins to get a great deal!!

I have wanted to start being a crafty mom and so I decided that I wanted to learn how to sew.  I was going to have to sew by hand since I don't have a machine. I didn't want to spend money on fabric so I headed over to one of my favorite sites (craigslist) to see if I could score some free fabric.  I searched fabric scraps and got a huge pile of some pretty awesome fabric. Look:

Don't ever underestimate the awesome deals that you can get from Craigslist.  I have some pretty good stuff that I've found on there.  I decided to do my first sewing project since my baby is starting preschool for the first time tomorrow.  I made her a mini pillowcase for her nap time pillow.  I think it came out great! What do you think?

By the way, since I told my family about wanting to sew...I scored a pretty awesome old Singer sewing machine from my grandmother. How about that?! I got fabric and a sewing machine for free. I can't wait to get started on the next one.  I think I want it to be some sort of appreciation gift for my daughters teacher. :)
